About ramblin’ and Robert

This blog has stories of my travels, near and far from home, beginning with my first trip to Europe, to Scotland, in 2008. With luck, “Ramblin” will describe my travels, not my writing style. And me? My mother, like all mothers, called me by my first and middle names when she really wanted my attention: “Robert Bruce!” Maybe my name is the real reason I chose Scotland for my first trip to Europe. The blog title, “Ramblin’ Robert” also seems appropriate, given one of my favorite songs, The Edinburgh Rambler, by Scottish singer and music historian Ed Miller.
