This is the main harbor at Bartolome in the Galapagos Islands; photo taken in March 2010. Movie buffs may recognize this harbor as one of the scenes from Master and Commander, a movie made from Patrick O’Brian’s book The Far Side of the World. For me, this trip was to the far side of the world, as it was my first time to cross the equator into the Southern Hemisphere.
